I've been thinking about my cousin, Elise Brandi. I really miss her. When we were growing up she lived in Owosso which is about 25 miles from Saginaw.
We would write letters to each other. I couldn't wait to open her neatly printed envelope. I am sure she didn't mind my terrible penmanship.
Each summer we would spend a week at each other's home. It was so much fun.
When we went to Boston to visit her and her husband, Roger it was with the same anticipation as those long ago summer visits.
There are so many people I want to see in heaven.

Inspiration
I know exactly where this belongs in the 5th book of the Saginaw Series, Martha Street Market.
Went to adoration last night. Prayed for direction - this popped up on Pinterest this morning.
Thank you for answered prayers.

Cruz Kitchen
Gloria and Santos Cruz own the building at 1200 Martha Street that used to be Martha Street Market. Along with their son, Michael they run a successful take out business. When I stopped to ask them a few questions about the store they were so helpful. The food smelled delicious. I can't wait to go back there to order takeouts for dinner. Some of their choices are: Tamale Dnner, Wet Burrito, Burrito, Taco, Tostada, Menudo.
When I explained who I was, Michael asked, "Are you Ms. Shea's daughter?"
I answered that I was - my Mom was the secretary in the grade school. His face lit up. He excitedly called his parents to the front saying, "This is Ms. Shea's daughter."
Michael went on to tell me that St. Mary Cathedral was family to them. The people he went to school with still come and order their food for family dinners. He told me several names of families coming in that day for their Christmas dinner orders.
The whole visit made me so happy. Such a sweet family - with a great business.

Sunday Morning Ride to Church
Most Sundays the ride to church is a beautiful way to start the day. I usually take pictures while Pat is driving. I love the digital camera in my phone.
Yesterday morning Pat saw a fox on the
Tittabawassee right in front of the condo.
I got these pictures.

Chopped Mistakes
Oh my goodness don't these people on chopped watch the show before going on as a chef? Again someone decides to make crepes!
- Count your ingredients at 10 minutes, 3 min and 1 min - plate all 4
- No crepes
- Never say, "I am going to win."
- Food has to work together - not 4 separate piles of food - a sauce could pull it together
- Salt
- Don't cook pasta for Scott
- Make ice cream for Amanda
- Pray you don't get Geoffrey
- Add spice
- Add fresh - citrus, salad, fruit
- Don't cut yourself
- Don't talk back to judge criticizing you
