One last visit before the Oklahomans go home

I shamelessly stole Kristina's picture collage off Facebook

Liz and Joe's Wedding

This was such a joyous occasion.  It was so good to be with so many of our loved ones.
Lots more pictures, but these are my favorites of the wedding.

Final Prep for Wedding

Liz and Joe get married tomorrow. So Joanna, Caroline and I made items for the dessert table this afternoon.

135 cheesecake parfaits and 50 little bags of puppy chow.

I'm ready for bed.

Joanna's best friend bakes for a living. Marina, Sweetie Pie,  I bet you are exhausted when you go home at night!

Co-op Moms

A night with friends from long ago.  We all were Cooperative Preschool Moms.  As well as being on various Area V and State Boards.  It was so good to see everyone.  It has been a couple years, but we don't want to miss another year ever.  Thanks to Jan, who lives the farthest away, when she comes to Michigan she makes sure we get together.

Last Editor Has The Book

It is very possible I will make my July goal for publishing my next book.  My sister, Jane is will be reading it this week. Then I make her corrections and read it through one more time.

Still looking at the covers.

Done

Success - at least for part one. Very easy to make.  Success for part two. Tastes great.

Now if they travel well to Jim and Jan's for dinner and are taste good after sitting out this cheesecake will be going to a wedding.

Not Making Petit Fours!

The puppy chow is coming along though. Bought glasssine bags and printed a design on them.

Going to try non bake cheesecake. Last experinent. If this doesn't work then puppy chow will have to do.

Picked up the pictures for the mirror they turned out.

Practice makes perfect, I hope

The first attempts on left and the last attempts on the right. My first Petit Fours.

I had the chocolate pretty close to the rose color, but the consistency was way too thin. After two fixes by adding more chocolate the consistency was correct and the color was wrong.

Hopefully by Liz and Joe's wedding I will have it figured out.

Notes:

  • Make chocolate first. It needs to cool.
  • 1 Sarah Lee Pound Cake makes 24 double layer Petit Fours.
  • Slice cake lengthwise and then slice each in half when still frozen.
  • Cut ends and sides off
  • Cutting shapes make sure to cut out both layers from same spot on both halves so the cakes are about the same size.
  • Add a bit of jam to glue together
  • Use fork and ladle chocolate over then set on wire rack to harden.

YES, OH YES,
I LOVE AN INSPIRATION.

I bought these for the Petit Fours and now I am going to buy golf tees and put tags on them "Liz and Joe"

Banana Split Pinterest post
  • Make pink, blue and chocolate
  • Instead of cake mix used Bisquik
  • instead of vegetable oil used coconut oil.

Jazz on Jefferson

We stopped at only one place, 520 S. Jefferson. They had an open house because it is for sale. The woman I met has done so much work. New roof, lots of water damage fixed. But her job has been reinstated in Florida and she has to go back.

Here are a few pictures taken with a few tears for the house I lived in 1964 - 1970 when Pat and I were married.

Front of house

Backyard
Jane and ME Room
Larry's Room
Mom's upstairs room
Upstairs bathroom

Couldn't take Jim's room or livingroom or sunroom or bathroom on main floor.
