Family

Kelly and Bill's wedding reception was so much fun. The Temple Theater was a great venue. The room was beautifully decorated. The bride was beautiful. The groom handsome. Everyone was smiling.

Jane, Theresa and Mary stayed here. It was so nice having them here. The five of us went to see Wonder Woman. They loved it and it was even better the second time.

I love my family. Even Karina who passed on some bronchial crud to me. Half way through the evening on Friday she told me she had been to redi-med for food poisoning. Then told me her throat hurt. Ummmm..... throats don't hurt from food poisoning. She lost her voice on Saturday. On Sunday evening my throat started to hurt. Congested today.

Small price to pay for getting to see everyone.

Family!

My sister and two of her daughters are on their way to our home! I can't wait! Big family weekend is happening.

Kelly and her husband Bill are having their Saginaw wedding reception on Saturday. It's at the Temple Theater, a beautifully renovated venue.

We already have seen Kim and found out she and Fred are only minutes away from the base Robbie and Alicia will be moving to in November. Oh how that makes me happy.

We are going to pick up the little boys to go to the museum in an hour. That will be fun too.

What a good life!

Weight Watchers

So far it's been pretty easy. I have lots of points because I have so much to lose. The smartpoints are the best. Most fruits and vegetables are free.

These are my amazing go to foods:

So many flavors - yum
Portion depends on how many points I have to eat at the end of the night

POINT FREE!
Instead of mayonnaise in egg salad
With a little vinegar on cucumbers
I'm going to try potato salad

Breakfast many mornings
Watermelon, fresh mint, Goat cheese

A handful anytime

First day of summer vacation

I love the zoo! Two and a half hours yesterday with Javier, Ayva, Romeo and Valentino. Followed by over an hour at McDonald's. We had a blast.

Always take the train - once a year is enough for Nana and I already had my ride. So I took pictures.

Then we spent a long time at the Dinosaur dig. Even Javier had fun. I know it won't be much longer before he will watch instead of play. But yesterday he had fun.

Then Romeo spotted a beautiful peacock

And of course.....

Fun...fun....fun

New Fidget Fanny Pack

I'm ready to sew the activities into the fanny pack. But the electricity went out! So I'll post instead.

Top section:
Foam flowers that slide on a ribbon
Magnets with soft leather in between
PVC connectors that screw together

Bottom section:
Picture frame
Beads that slide on ribbon
Plastic rivets that snap together
Plastic washers on a measuring tape
Military buttons

Then it folds up and goes around the waist for travel or around a car headrest for back seat or maybe around the visit for front seat.

Six Meijer Stores

We wanted to get four more chairs for the porch. Two of the chairs we already use and love. They rock, they are a bit higher so I can see over the railing, and they are very comfortable.

We were waiting for them to go on sale so when Pat went to Meijer on Gratiot yesterday he called to say they were 40% off. When he got home he realized he had one that matched, but the other three were not the same, just similar in color and size.

So he went back and returned the three. Then he went to Tittabawassee Road and Midland. No chairs.

Today we went to both Bay City stores - no chairs. Then he struck gold at the store in Mt. Pleasant.

So now when Jim and Jan and Amy and Bill come for dinner we can all be comfortable.

On our way home we stopped at Ace Hardware in Midland. We both love that store. We were looking for things to make another fidget activity for our friend. I found two Melissa and Doug bags with pockets. I took one apart to make one larger one. Today I found some cool stuff. Magnets, pvc small connections, plastic rivets. And while we were in Bay City I went to Goodwill while Pat went to Meijer and I found a small picture frame and some tassels. I'll post a picture when I'm done.

Blah, Blah, Blah

Watching the Tiger game on Fox game of the week. These announcers are killing me. I complain all the time about Gibby, but I'd even listen to him tonight!

Little Pink Dish

Mary Lynn and I cleaned out Aunt Dorothy and Aunt Bernice's condo more than 20 years ago. One of my treasured pieces I brought home was one pink China dish that was from my Grandma Brandi's good China.

It was a pretty pink dish with little blue flowers. Even though there were a couple chips in it and the flowers were faded, I still loved having Grandma's dish in my kitchen with me.

Over the years I used it for baking. Whenever Sheala and Robbie helped me in the kitchen we would use the little dish to break eggs into it. I would always remind them it was their Great Great Grandma Brandi's dish.

Sheala eventually asked me if she could have the dish when I died. (Don't get freaked out by that - it's a family tradition!) I told her she certainly could have it after I died.

One day I grabbed the dish just before it fell on the floor. I decided to put it away for Sheala.

A couple weeks ago I asked Sheala if she remembered the dish. Sadly, she did not. Looking back on it now I wish I had not put it away.

Shiawassee Auto Tour

We love driving through the Shiawassee National Refuge auto tour.

Yesterday was opening day. We expect to see more birds and animals next time, but the ones we saw were beautiful.
