Lent - St. Dominic's - SS Peter and Paul Site

Nancy had a vision for the wall sculpture. We used the panels separately before, but this time Pat screwed them together.

Ron had old rusty barbed wire in his barn. We didn't know what we were going to do with it, but told him to bring it. When we kept looking at it rolled up on an old piece of barnwood it looked so good we decided to keep it. Then Jean brought out the burlap, rope and spikes. Then we got all the rocks. The wire, ropes and spikes look as if they are waiting to be used.

Busy Time for Pat

Pat has spent so much time with his parents since Dad broke his clavicle. He goes every day for hours at a time.

Heartland Home Health Care is managing Dad and Mom's health right now. It is a relief to get some help.

We bought a lift chair for Dad. It works like a charm. We were so worried about Pat's sister, Mary lifting him out of his chair. That's a good way to put out your back and knees.

So now they have nurse visits which includes drawing blood so Pat doesn't have to take him out in the cold. Physical therapists to get them both moving because this has been a difficult winter with him in his chair and her in bed for most of the day. An Occupational therapist to give them help for showers and such.

So with Pat gone so much I should be working on my book.......

Shadows

This shadow is on my wall. It's from the sun coming through the window.

I love sunlight and the shadows it makes.

Will he be my Valentine?

                      It's a trick question
               He already is my Valentine!

Nice Afternoon - Perfect Timing

A nice day with friends.

                             White Chili

Thanks to Clarence I have these pictures below for you!

Cobb Salad

                          Crunchy Asian Salad

Warm Asparagus Salad

Reese's PB/Potato Chip Bars and
Pecan Pie Bars

We had nine people from my class for lunch. Elinor, Kathleen, Clarence, Joan, Barb and Pat, Bill, John and Mary Beth, and Pat and me.

It was an easy lunch chili and salads. Always nice to sit and talk with such lasting friends.

Pat had to keep leaving the room because after begging the doctor's office to figure out why we didn't have a call from Health Services for 8 days they finally figured out they never requested it. So now everyone wanted to get help for his parents right then.

Thankfully the last few classmates had their coats on when we had to leave to meet the nurse.

She was very helpful. After a few calls to medical supply stores (she called and handed the phone to Pat) we decided to go to the store on Tittabawassee to purchase a lift chair.  They told us Medicare was available after the doctors office filled out lots of paperwork! Not!

They offered to pay the tax and that actually saved us more than what Medicare would reimburse.

So ten days after he broke his clavicle the chair should be delivered today. Dad has not been able to get out of his chair without someone pulling him up by the waistband. That has been Pat's sister, Mary, for most of the time.

Thank you St. Anthony

I wanted four white platters and four colbalt blue soup bowls. Lately we have had more than eight people for dinner and I figured twelve would be better than eight.

I had purchased eight of each last year at Dollar Daze. I was a bit worried about the soup bowls because I went to three Dollar Daze stores to buy the original eight.

Stopped at Shields store, nothing. Went to Midland store and found the platters. No soup bowls - and actually neither store had colbalt blue anything.

As we were leaving the parking lot we passed the Goodwill. I said we might as well look there.

On the way in I whispered to St. Anthony that I could use some help. Not even ten feet into the store the matching cobalt blue soup bowls were sitting on the shelf.

Thank you St. Anthony.

Sheala Sleeping - her head resting on my lap

Sheala studied for three hours on our living  room floor. About 2:30 I saw her rubbing her eyes. I told her she needed to rest a bit. So this is one happy Nana. I won't take a picture of her sleeping, but this is her studying.
